Emily and Matt’s Wedding at the Mansion on Turner Hill, Ipswich, MA

Emily and Matt were married this September on a beautiful Sunny and 75 degree late summer day at The Mansion on Turner Hill in Ipswich, MA.  (Which makes me want to say “Ipswich Clams” for any Billy Crystal fans).   In keeping with the new blog format, Emily graciously answered some questions for our blog readers.   Here are her answers and some of my favorites photos from the wedding day.

How did you and Matt meet? Mutual friend (the maid of honor!)
Who proposed marriage and how did that proposal happen? Matt proposed right before Christmas, just us and our dog Mayble while hanging out at the house in out PJs. He proposed by hiding the ring in a photo book he made with pictures throughout our relationship… so sweet and personal, it was perfect.

Describe your bridal attire. I wanted to look like me, but fancy!  I wanted everyone to feel beautiful, comfortable and like themselves! I had such a beautiful group of girls, I didn’t want them to get lost in matching dresses.

THE CEREMONY
Was there a decor theme for the ceremony? Just the natural beauty of our location.
Ceremony music: Spencer Leflem acoustic guitar
Officiant: Mike Dunn (Step uncle of Bride)
Ceremony Location: Turner Hill Mansion
Why did you pick that location for your ceremony? It had everything! Inside, outside, tent and Carol, the amazing event coordinator.
Did someone escort you down the aisle? My Brother, Andrew.
Who and why did you pick that escort? Our father passed away when we were young and it was always a given that he’d be the one to “give me away”
Favorite ceremony memory? I screwed up and kissed Matt as soon as I got to him after walking down the isle! We had talked about how we’d just hold hands when I got there, but habits kicked in! It was pretty funny.

heather_fuller_photography_turner_hill_wedding_photographer_21heather_fuller_photography_turner_hill_wedding_photographer_22What were some personal details you incorporated? Everything was us, nothing was there because it had to be, it was there because we wanted it.
Old, new, borrowed, blue – Did you follow that tradition and if so, what did you use? yes! Old- My grandmother’s ring, New- dress, Borrowed- my mom’s anniversary band my Dad gave her, Blue- My necklace from my great aunt.
Moments you loved, hated, cried, laughed or giggled at: The speeches were prefect and made us both cry, laugh and feel so loved. They were so personal and well thought out (especially my brothers).
What you would have done differently, if anything: Nothing!
Any advice you have for future brides? Have fun, be in the moment, the details don’t matter.
Where did you find your inspiration? From the love around us. What was important to us was to all be together
Three things you’re glad you did.- 1-Sleep over with the girls at my moms the night before and have a big, leisurely breakfast at the house. 2- Have the girls pick their own dresses and colors, everyone looked amazing and felt beautiful. 3- Marry the best man I could find 😉
How was your wedding different than you imagined it would be (less than 30 words)? It went too fast!!!

Congratulations!
